All That is Left is Some Old Wrapping Paper

I still have one more present to wrap for tomorrows birthday party, but the only wrapping paper I have left is kind of tattered and wrinkly. I thought about smoothing it out a few days ago when I first found it shoved into the back corner of the linen closet, but then I got distracted and I forgot to do it.

Now as luck would have it, it is too late to buy some tonight and I will not have time in the morning to get some before we have to be at the party. As it is we still have to make a card which depending on my inspiration can take a few minutes or several hours. Right now I am hoping that an idea comes to mind quickly so that I can have at least one less thing to worry about.

While I love celebrating special occasions with others, I am always a bit anxious when it comes to gift giving. Part of it stems back to my childhood when we wrapped every present in Christmas wrapping paper for two years straight. In fact once we had used all that gift wrapping paper, I begged my mom to never buy wrapping paper with a Christmas theme again. She did not listen and as a result the craft room closest mostly resembled a wrapping paper suppliers Christmas stash.

It probably explains why I just cannot bring myself to use the tattered paper, even if it is all that I have available because I know more than most just how important wrapping paper can be. That and I know that it is tacky to give a gift wrapped in what looks like used gift wrapping sheets. Although honestly I will most likely end of having to use it, unless of course I can get creative enough to make a card and some custom wrapping paper too.
